‘The new shade of me’-Yuvan | DC
Yuvan Shankar Raja is mightily miffed. The very popular son of Illayaraja has been in the news recently, but not for the right reasons.
The singer - music director became a sensation with Yevan Di Unna Petha with Simbu’s vocals. Post the success of Vaanam and Kadhal to Kalyanam, the hot news was that he would be scoring the music for Selvaraghavan-Kamal Haasan’s next flick.
Clarifying rumours about his assuming that he was part of the film, Yuvan says, “I was extremely disappointed to read such false reports. The reason I approached the media was to clarify that Selva did want me to compose music for the film. But he had someone else also in mind and later we mutually decided that I’ll let this movie pass.”
Ask him if there was a disagreement, and he quips, “There was absolutely no disagreement or misunderstanding. It was a peaceful decision on both sides. The problem is that the media wants news so they make ‘us’ the news. But this is part and parcel of the entertainment industry."
Yuvan’s music in Vaanam has been declared a hit and right now, he has his hands full with Avan Ivan. What kind of music is he composing for Avan Ivan? “I’ve experimented with the songs in Avan Ivan. You'll see a completely different shade of me.”
The single in Vaanam was a big hit even in Bollywood and Yuvan has plans to step into B-town. “I’ve been approached with a few projects and it is all in the nascent stage. However, I will be on that turf soon.” He adds, “I’m also working on a few international projects, which are shaping up well.”
